How a manager of large fortunes decided to change career.
My career began where many careers begin: an Italian bank, traditional advice to investors in the Lombard provinces. I did my job well, but I wanted to understand something that nobody tells you at the counter: how big money really works.
So I joined an investment boutique in Milan, a merchant bank whose only trade was managing the fortunes of wealthy clients, up to a hundred million euros each. There I discovered that the strategies that protect and grow large capital are different, often opposite, to those sold to the ordinary saver.
Within a few years I became the manager of the bank's most important portfolios. Then I wanted to push further and I moved to an asset management company in Switzerland that worked for several hedge funds, with access to analysis and information of a level hard to obtain elsewhere. Finally a hedge fund proper: enormous volumes, deep specialist expertise in derivatives, and every day at the table with the portfolio managers of the best merchant banks.
I spoke every day with the people who move the markets. And at a certain point I asked myself a simple question: what do these funds do that a private individual, on their own, never does?
The winter of 2016, a meeting room, an idea that changes everything.
It was the winter of 2016. In a meeting room, together with a colleague, I met a Danish manager: extremely well versed in derivatives, CFA certified, a fund that over the previous five years had performed with a very high probability of success. His strategy did not try to guess where the market would go. It did the exact opposite.
He explained it to me with an image I have never forgotten. Imagine the market as a casino. Traders are the ones betting on red or black: sometimes they win, of course. But over the long run the house always wins, otherwise the casino would close. That strategy was not playing roulette. It was the house.
From that day on I no longer wanted to be a slave to the directional market. I wanted control over my own work. I went to work inside a hedge fund to understand that logic from within, then I began to rebuild it piece by piece: taking the best skills of every professional I had met and simplifying them. Because whoever truly masters a subject is the one who can explain it simply.
The discovery
Selling risk instead of buying it. Like insurers and hedge funds: collecting recurring premiums from the simple passing of time, instead of betting on the direction of prices.
Reverse engineering
Years spent taking apart the strategies of the big funds and testing them on small capital, where the instruments are more flexible than a billion-euro fund can allow itself.
The System

The result that counts isn't the one you think.
A few weeks after that meeting I took a small account from 600 euros to 50,000, in about five months. Am I proud of it? Only in part. Because the real lesson came afterwards.
I was aggressive, too aggressive. And most of that capital I gave back to the market. From that mistake I learned the most important thing of all: a result without risk control is just luck dressed up as skill. Today my money management is obsessive and my risk management is hedge-fund grade.
This is why the System I teach does not aim at spectacular numbers in a few months. It aims at persistence: steady results over time, keeping the capital safe. I pass on my mistakes too, so that you can learn from them as I did.
